The tune playing is “Will Ye No Come Back Again”, by Carolina Oliphant, Lady Nairne, written in the early 19th century as a tribute to Bonnie Prince Charlie.

The tune playing is “A Soldier’s Return”.  Written by Robert Burnes in 1793, it praised the common soldier though, in fact, Burnes scorned war in all forms but one, that being the “Life-giving wars of Venus” (from Lines on War).
