I was recently reviewing my web site and noticed that I had not done justice to the 2005 tour. So I have updated it. I have added a few updated comments that are enclosed in parentheses.
The Beatonite Incursion of '05

In August of 2005, Alex Beaton assembled a troop of Beatonites to once again cross "the Pond" and set foot on Scottish soil. This adventure would take us northwest out of Glasgow along the Great Western Road past Loch Lomond and bleak Rannoch Moor to Loch Linnhe. Thence northeast up the Great Glenn past Forts William and Augustus and Urquhart Castle to Inverness, the Capitol of the Highlands and Culloden, the sight of the last land battle fought on British soil and the final defeat of the highland Jacobites. From there we will turn back east and south through the Cairngorms to one of all Beatonite's favorite lodgings - the Banchory Hotel. After exploring the local sights, we will again turn south through Dundee and the Kingdom of Fife, stopping along the way at Anstruther (or as the locals say "Anster") for the famous fish and chips and perhaps a pint of Tennent's! The Dryburgh Abbey Hotel will be our base of operations to explore the Scottish Borders. Then finally to Edinburgh with it's magnificent castle from which we will explore bonnie Doune and Sterling Castles. It will be ten days of hard riding, good sites and better food. I am sure that Alex, along with good coachman Barry will bring us safely through to journey's end. And once again, with the campaign well completed, we will reluctantly return to the US.
