The Edinburgh Zoo
On this day, we were scheduled to tour the royal yacht - the Britannia. I had seen it on my trip in 2003 and Amy worked at the Knoxville Zoo so we decided to play hooky and visit the Edinburgh Zoo. The Edinburgh Zoo, formerly the Scottish National Zoological Park, covers 82 acres on the southern slope of the Corstorphine Hill. (I know this for a fact for our visit was half uphill, then the other half was downhill.) Founded in 1913, it is Scotland's second most popular tourist attraction (for pay) after Edinburgh Castle. The zoo houses over 1000 animals and is world known for it breeding of penguins.

Old man Warthog The Malayan Tapir is an endangered species with only about 1000 left in the wild. A Leopard hides at the back of its enclosure. A Snow Leopard wanders forth. A Bengal Tiger regally looks over its domain. Looking out from the Zoo. A beautiful Blue Crowned Pigeon. Mr Koala knaps among the eucalyptus leaves. Meerkats on the lookout! Asian Small-Clawed Otters frolic in the water. Ring-Tailed Lemurs Mansion House is the Edinburgh Zoo setting for meetings, conferences and special events.
