Saturday evening, White Rock, BC, CA
So finally I find time for my first post. The flight from Knoxville was totally uneventful. However, when I landed in Seattle, Jr informed me that he had checked with SixT, our rental car agency, and the convertible Mustang that I had reserved months earlier was not available. (Turns out that they have only two convertibles in Seattle -
a Mustang and a Camaro. Neither was available.) But Jr took the bull by the horns and, checking with Enterprise and found two available. And to sweeten the deal, it was about $1000 less than the SixT rate. (The problem was the surcharge for dropping the car off in San Diego.) We soon had our names on the line and the keys in hand.
Fortunately, I had booked the car through Expedia with a no penalty cancellation. I had to tell the agent six times to cancel the reservation, but I got it done.
So we proceeded up the I-5 for our first night - the Ocean Promenade Hotel in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada, just south of Vancouver.
