McPherson This year Alex shared his stage with the Atlanta-based trio The Vintage Vocals Marnie and Bob Campbell and my other brother, John Linda and her mother, Betty Irvin. Jim Thompson leads the massed bands at the closing ceremonies. Alex and Tom McPherson close out his set with a rendition of “Big Bad John”

New Hampshire Highland Games
Two lovely lasses paused for this picture. Another bucksome lass...and with an Irn-Bru Curly, Larry and Moe stopped to sample Alex’s talents. Alex receives a token from one of his many fans Jill and niece Elly enjoy Alex’s crooning. A Jacobite family stopped by to sample Alex’s wares. When I asked if they had just come down from the Highlands, they said “Nay, we were here yestermorn!” Alex, Lois Wilson and moi. I met Lois on my first tour with Alex back in ‘03 and this is the first time we’ve run into each other since. Obviously, I should have done this sooner! Alex displaying his new-found southern genteelness with Linda. And, of course, the Pope was there ... along with his father.

Grandfather Mountain, NC, Highland Games
Alex, Bill Eisenhower and Bob Campbell shoot a little breeze. The MacPhersons, Campbells and Friends gather for dinner at the campground. On Thursday night, the Grandfather Games hold a very unique Clan Call. It combines a lot of boasting, a bit of humor, the occasional inspiration... and fire! Alex scootin’ back to his stage. Alex chatting with Chief John Alexander MacArthur of that Ilk, Chief of Clan Arthur and his wife, Caroline. Of course, the Pope showed up! Our Fairie returned to this year’s Games and it looks like Alex has Captured her...at least for the moment. My friend, Coleen Thomason from the Beatonite Uprising of ‘03, and her friend, Russel Dabney. Bob Campbell plays us a little pipe tune with Grandfather Mountain in the background. Looks like Alex is trying to get his order in early. Alex and Scooter Muse on Sunday Afternoon.
